Two Boas looking for a good home |
21-10-2006 by Kim405
| I have two boas, one female 6ft and one 4 ft unsexed red tail. I have started a new job and dont have the time that they deserve to look after them. They live together but would seperate.Has Anyone got the time to give my two babies the loving home that they need. Ipswich Based |

| yeh i have , im experienced with larger snakes too, they tame ? |
23-10-2006 by Kim405
| Yeah they are very tame. Never attempted to bite anyone. They are handled almost every day and feed very well, although the smaller of the two has not mastered the eating of the rat head first so spends a good half an hour trying to eat it before getting it right. So during this time i have to keep the larger one out of the viv.(i feed them a day apart and have done so for the past 18 months) Would love to be able to keep them but feel it would be unfair. Would only let them go to someone who knows a bit about boas as although they are still quite small in respect to what they can grow to they are still quite powerful. |

| Hiya, my boas are all kept individually unless I am breeding them, so I have a few 1.2 groups at the mo.
I have a spare 4ft viv and a 5ft viv if that helps? |

| Kim..
i'd certainly recomend pete for them yes.. i've used him to take on other rescues i have found (like ones being sold on ebay for instance!) and he has never let them down!
If i was not in dorset, i'd have them here too.. but, at least pete is only an hour or so away, so you could always go and see them in the future!
hope you get them sorted!

| Has anyone in the mean time got any ideas of what i can put in my viv, just so things arn't the same for my snakes all the time. |
25-10-2006 by jessica
| a nice big branch/log with a few large rocks for them to explore (securely positioned), mabe some false viv plants, or, a large box (with hole cut in) or similar as a hide? I've noticed sometimes my snake likes to get up on something high to curl up on and rest on. Perhaps a big rock, log (small dog basket perhaps ) is usually a favourite with larger snakes , they can go inside or on top of this, if you have the space |
26-10-2006 by Kim405
| Ok got most of that tho got branches secured from the top of viv to bottom and one that runs the length of the roof of the viv. Only thing iv not got is a dogs basket, just got a normal hide, but i will get one to give them something different. |
26-10-2006 by jessica
| let me know how they like it |
28-10-2006 by Kim405
| they both got inside it and went to sleep. Lazy little things lol |
