| will two 3 year old lepard gekos be ok on calcium sand |

| Calcium sand is a safer way to keep your leopard geckos because when you are feeding livefoods the calcium sand will not damage their system if they eat it, if picked up with their livefood. They will digest it.
It is more benificial to them then other substrates.
wood substrates and vermiculite are not digestable and can damage their internal organs.
Don't forget to sprinkle vitamin powder on their livefood still though as there are other vitamins which they need to obtain a healthy system, and don't put too many crickets in the cage at once as they will pester the geckos. |

| ok thanks i was just scared cos i had a baby geko not long ago and i had it on normal sand and this pink thing came out of its back end and it died it felt like a sak of sand |

| normal sand is not digestable like calcium sand.
donot buy aquatic(fish) sand it is not the same thing.
also, for your extra information on feeding safely, another thing that i have come across is black crickets atacking leopard geckos and water dragons internally as they don't digest very well having harder exoskelingtons. so feed large browns or locust hoppers(locusts without wings)as these are softer and more digestable. |

| typing error:-the black crickets have harder exoskelingtons not the gecko:o |

| ok cheers for that mate maybe it did die off a black cricket there was only 2 crickets left the nite it died and the one it ate was big for it would that of killed it it was like its vains came out and it bit them all off then after that it prolapsed |

| I cannot say the prolapse was from this black cricket as i am not a vet.a post mortom would have to be done by a vet to diagnose cause of death.
The problem with leopard geckos is they cannot crush the blacks down in their mouths like a bearded dragon can.You can actually hear a bearded dragon crunch it down.this means that the black cricket could still be alive when it is swallow.
Only feed as many brown crickets or hoppers as the geckos will eat in a meal, always dusted with vitamin powder especially formulated for leopard geckos.take away any leftovers to stop pestering.
always watch them eat because you can then monitor them for any signs of not eating, either due to one being greedy or illness.
If one of them looks lathargic or stops eating go straight to your reptile vet.Do not try to treat the gecko yourself as you may do more damage than good. |

| Correction:-This means the black cricket could still be alive inside the Leopard Gecko when it swallows it. |
