Posted hand rearing budgies

my budgies have just had chicks and i am having to hand rear one i would like anyone that has any information on hand rearing to help me

You will need to keep it warm in an incubator if the hen has rejected it as warmth is the first thing it will need. secondly you will have to syringe feed a hand rearing formula like nutribird or Kaytee. the chick has to be fed every few hours. The formula has to be correct for it to be able to digest it.It is a 50/50 chance that the chick will survive hand rearing.Through natural selection there is usually a good reason for the chick being pushed out the nest.Usually because it is sick or it is the runt.If you get through the baby stage and the chick starts to feed itself then i suggest using eggfood moistened to mak it more palletable and budgie seed in another trough and water in another trough.

thank you for your help the chick is doing realy well and mum has exsepted it again for some reason i think it was because it was a week younger then the rest now it older its geting to the food first a right little fighter
