| 02-02-2006 by emma | aint she just little mummy hen fussing over her  not to sure about the viv she came with its mesh but fine mesh so worried that shes going to get claws caught in it  plus there is no heat mat (getting one moro had to order it) so the bottom of the viv is quite cool, heat lamps on a stat but hasnt turned off yet think its losing all the heat through the mesh. will be building that big viv sooner that expected  but i dont care shes just so lovely |
| 02-02-2006 by brittone05 | Emma - please don't use a heat mat with her. Iguanas rely on an overhead heat source like the sun. They can get burnt and can suffer form bad stomach problems after eating and then going to a UTH heat source. If you want to get her a good heat source and a great UVB source, go to www.reptileuv.com and order a MVB for her. They aren't cheap at about $50 each but they last ofr at least 12 months and are far superior to anything elses on the market. Like I said ont he other forum, before you build your new cage, let me know as I am selling godz old cage and could let you have a fair price on it - good luck with her |
